About BiCALP Nepal

The BiCALP Nepal is an independent non-governmental civil society established with a vision to promote social / community development, sustainable natural resource management, skill development and green job creation in contributing to secure livelihood of the people. It registered in Dhanusha District Administration Office, Janakpurdham with registration number 2696 / 2077 / 078 on Dec 03, 2020 to deliver community development activities as to its objectivity for socio, environmental and economic transformation into sustainable livelihood security of the people today and in the future.

It is governed by 7 members executive board and is supported by a set of experienced professionals’ team with a wide range of experiences on community based non formal popular education, watershed and natural resource management involving upstream and downstream people, training and orientation, campaigning socially excluded and down-trodden people for their rights and dignity

About Our Vision

Mission

BiCALP Nepal shall contribute to improved social, institutional, natural and economic development through:
Association building of sustainable NRM- Agriculture and Forest User Groups with special focus on the PVSE sects of the society and empowering them for collaborative and democratic natural resource management of the district with Skill and Employment generation

Immediate Objective (Goal)

BiCALP Nepal shall contribute to improved and sustainable livelihood security and well-being of the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded including rural population in the district through: a) Sustainable Agriculture and Forest Conservation with improved integrated watershed management, climate adaptation, skill and green job creation, and b) increased equality in power, capacities, access and control over resources with socio- environmental and economic transformation in river system corridor through Capacity building, Coordination, Social Justice, Governance, Gender Equity, Dalit and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Entrepreneurship, Advocacy and Popular Co-management.

Objectives

Social/ Cultural Empowerment:

  1. BiCALP Nepal is established as non- profit, non-formal lifelong learning civil society with creating peoples’ awareness and develop necessary actions for finding innovative options and new techniques for Land use, Agriculture, Water Source and Forest Conservation and Sustainable development of Public Health.
  2. BiCALP Nepal will increase social cooperation, cohesion, peace and harmony, equity and equality, social justice and strengthening of human right and democracy in community by reducing gender, class and cast disparity and ensure women and dalit to enjoy their right and dignity with feeling of responsibility towards community and nation.
  3. BiCALP Nepal will raise public awareness through social dialogue and campaigning for social, cultural and economic transformation against untouchability, low wages, corruption, illiteracy, malpractices and superstitions such as violence against women, child marriage and dowry practices prevailing in the society.
  4. BiCALP Nepal will facilitate and mobilize Ag, Water Source, Forest /NRM Users Groups to influence over national policies on Social and NRM issues like Land use, Agriculture, Water resource and Forest in favor of livelihood security through Campaign and Advocacy.

Capacity Building/ Employment Creation:

  1. BiCALP Nepal will educate and promote awareness to Agriculture, Water resource, Forest /NRM Users Groups, social change agents and stakeholders, enhancing their skill and capacities for green jobs creation, food security and delivering goods/ natural biological products and services through Chure forest conservation and sustainable CBNRM.
  2. BiCALP Nepal will promote focused group of society- dalit, janajati, women, poor and minorities with increased equality in power, capacities (organizational and technical empowerment), access to information to claim their rights for the fulfillment of the basic needs (Food, Shelter, Girls and Dalit Education, Public Health, WASH- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Employment, Social Justice and Security and Environment) and make the concerned stakeholders accountable towards the community.
  3. BiCALP Nepal will contribute in motivating and promoting focused groups of dalit, Janajati, women and deprived communities to coordinate and actively collaborate among local governments- rural municipality and municipality, district, provincial and federal governments in planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and social auditing process of community development.

Natural Resource Management/ Climate Adaptation:

  1. BiCALP Nepal will contribute to create peoples’ awareness for integrated Chure-Forest conservation and natural resources- Land, Agriculture, Water resources and Forest Management, Environment/ Climate Adaptation, Scientific Bio-diversity Conservation, Community Resilience and Poverty Reduction through coordination and collaboration among multi-stake holders with lead as well as active participation of community people.
  2. BiCALP Nepal will contribute to socio- environmental and economic transformation in watershed area/ river system interlinking upstream and downstream multi-stakeholders between Churia and Tarai through capacity building, coordination, advocacy, governance and popular co management.

Economic Empowerment:

  1. BiCALP Nepal will facilitate and conduct various awareness programs, cooperatives, micro-entrepreneurship, skill development, forest/ agriculture innovative self-employment opportunities and income generation activities for the sustainable peace and development of the country to institutionalize the federal proportional inclusive democratic republic through youth leadership and mobilization
  2. Overall economic transformation will be attained through natural resources ( Water, Land and Forest) management such as conservation, promotion and utilization of scientific biodiversity including Chure forest conservation, integrated watershed (river system) management, community ponds, wet land and public land agro-forestry conservation, private, community and collaborative forest management and organic agricultural farming through coordination, cooperation and collaboration among the concerned stakeholders and local people's participation including dalit, poor and marginalized communities and community actions.
